Overview
Shep is an AI-powered Bible and sermon study app that helps individuals and groups engage more deeply with Scripture by organizing sermons, extracting structured insights, and answering questions using only trusted sermon sources—not generic internet knowledge. The app is designed to support thoughtful study without shortcutting interpretation, context, or theological responsibility.
What We’re Building
-
Sermon-anchored AI study AI summaries, insights, and Q&A are generated strictly from sermons users choose to follow (via RSS or uploads), with clear citations back to the original message and referenced Scripture. No uncited general AI answers.
-
Structured sermon breakdowns Each sermon is parsed into key points, themes, illustrations, quotes, and Scripture references—clearly labeled as sermon content vs. biblical text.
-
Plans (guided study paths) Users can create or follow Plans—multi-day or multi-week study flows built from sermons, passages, or themes. Plans deliver daily content such as:
- Focused summaries
- Scripture readings
- Reflection questions
- Prayer prompts Plans are designed for personal devotion, child discipleship, small groups, or sermon series follow-ups.
-
Cross-sermon insight layer The app identifies recurring themes, emphasized passages, and underexplored topics across a sermon series or time window—helping users see patterns without making doctrinal claims.
Why It Matters
Most Bible and AI tools blur the line between Scripture, commentary, and model opinion. Shep is intentionally different:
- AI outputs are constrained to known, trusted sources
- All insights are traceable and reviewable
- Scripture remains primary; AI remains assistive
The goal is not to replace study, pastors, or discernment—but to reduce friction, surface structure, and help people engage more faithfully and consistently with God’s Word.
